Last weekend’s CX carnival continued here after 2 days of hard racing at the Greenware USGP of Cyclocross in nearby Kentucky. Many of SRAM & Zipp’s top professionals used the Saturday and Sunday in Louisville to lay down some fresh lines and gain valuable experience at the freshly built 2013 World’s venue.
Andy Paskins, the Zipp brand’s marketing man smartly used the critical mass of pro’s and the wild fire attention CX is gaining all over these days to organize a unique Monday session in Indy. Since we recently minted a new Zipp alchemy facility for all that carbon and speed, inviting the top CX’rs over proved to be genius. Joining for the event were weekend winners Team Cannondale pb Cyclocrossworld, plus hot shots from California Giant Berry Farms-Specialized. Team Specialized’s Todd Wells, and Zipp’s privateer & Danish strongman Joachim Parbo added to the star power. Rounding out the A-Team were tireless staff and technicians from each of the teams plus our own SRAM Neutral Race Support Crew.
Having wrapped up in Louisville Sunday, some tired bones and dusty lungs rallied to dinner in the Derby city then humbly got back on the road, headed North. Like clockwork, the whole gang made the morning – through – afternoon factory tours, product feedback sessions, and photoshoots, then suited up for the end of day drills and clinics, hosting about 70 regional amateur athletes looking to learn from the best.
Mega thanks to Tim Johnson, Jeremy Powers, Katlin Antonneau, Todd Wells, Meredith Miller, Jesse Anthony, Nick Weighall and Jaochim Parbo and their mechanics and staff for the extra effort. These guys are EARNING it, on Mondays too.
