The Avid Shorty Ultimate Holeshot competition, where speed and aggression off the startline can get you cash money, was unleashed this weekend at the Exergy USGP p/b Greenware Planet Bike Cup cyclocross events in Sun Prairie, WI. SRAM’s brake brand, Avid, will reward the first pro man and woman to exit the races’ first turn, or what is commonly known as the Holeshot, at every USGP this ‘cross season. It was obvious riders were gunning for the Holeshot win, added Cannondale-Cyclocrossworld.com’s Stu Thorne, “it’s good money and a great race tactic.”

The sneaky-fast Nicole Duke wears her Avid hat after talking the Holeshot on Saturday."I was absolutely focused on it, why not win some money and get clear lines out of the chaos of the start."

Two-time French National Champion Caroline Mani wanted to win both days. "I knew I wasn't going to win the race, so why not focus on the holeshot?"

Rob Peeters (Telenet-Fidea) makes it look easy in the mud, and into the turn he did not use his brakes

Rob Peeters (Telenet-Fidea) preps to win the Holeshot on day two. "You have to have a perfect start, I didn't on day one, but day two I got it right."
