SRAM RED-2012, Teams, NRS, Lifestyle Festival and the Tour Insider
SRAM will be omnipresent at America’s Greatest Cycling Race, the 2012 Amgen Tour of California (ATOC); beginning with SRAM sponsored teams and athletes, Neutral Race Support, the Lifestyle Festival, plus the new daily video feature, the “Tour Insider Powered by SRAM.”
The all-new SRAM RED-2012 gruppo – the world’s lightest, fastest and winningest – will be underneath sprint stars Peter Sagan (Liquigas-Cannondale), as well as the king of the spring classics, Tom Boonen (Omega Pharma-Quick-Step). Rolling on RED-2012 for the overall will be three-time winner Levi Leipheimer (Omega Pharma-Quick-Step), Rory Sutherland (United Healthcare), Vincenzo Nibali (Liquigas-Cannondale), and Peter Velits (Omega Pharma-Quick-Step). The youth movement will be lead by Joe Dombrowski (Bontager-Livestrong), and Jesse Anthony (Optum ProCycling p/b Kelly Benefits).
SRAM Neutral Race Support: For the third year running SRAM’s Neutral Race (NRS) support crew will keep the professionals rolling over ATOC’s 800 miles. Four fully equipped Volvo XC-70’s, two Aprilia motos, and 13 technicians will be at the front, back, and middle of the peloton with SRAM equipped Specialized frames, Speedplay pedals, and Zipp wheels for eight days of service and whatever comes their way.
ATOC Lifestyle Expo: SRAM, Specialized®, Speedplay® and Zipp will also travel everyday along with the ATOC Lifestyle Festival showcasing the latest from all four super-brands, including SRAM’s all new RED-2012 gruppo. It’s also your chance to compare your strength to the top pros at the SRAM booth on the Quarq powered Arm Wrestling machine.
