Tony Martin (Omega Pharma-Quick-Step Cycling Team) won his second Time-Trial World Championship title of his career. And after his gold medal at the World’s TTT on Sunday with his five teammates, Tony Martin has to be considered the World’s fastest cyclist at the moment.
The intense competition within the Elite men and the pressure on his shoulders due to his 2011 title didn’t affect his concentration and couldn’t challenge his ultimate goal. Over the 45.7km race course in the Netherlands he rode with dedication and strong confidence knowing he was powered by SRAM RED components. His Specialized Shiv equipped with SRAM RED components and Zipp 808 Firecrest/ Super-9 Disc Carbon Clincher wheels crossed the line 5.37 seconds ahead of Taylor Phinney (USA), the silver medalist.
For the two first races of the World Championships, the Omega Pharma-Quick-Step Cycling Team riders have achieved incredible performances. Let’s see what they can do on Sunday for the 261km World Championship Road race. Another title Powered by SRAM… why not!
