SRAM and Avid Athlete’s Cyclocross World Cup Runneth Over

Her return to the top parallels her return to SRAM and Avid componentry, and Katie Compton said she felt like she was “home again” when she requested to ride SRAM as part of the new TREK Cyclocross Collective Team.

Compton secured America’s first World Cup Overall Championship by never finishing worse than second at the first seven events, accumulating an insurmountable 136-point lead over Great Britain’s Nikki Harris. She will skip the final round in Hoogerheide, NED.

Compton now aims to repeat as the US CX National Champion for the ninth time in Verona, WI, (Jan 14), and will follow that with an assault on the Cyclocross World Championships in Louisville, KY (Feb 3). The ‘hometown favorite’ hopes to best her three previous podium finishes at World’s: once third and twice second.

Congratulations to Katie on an incredible World Cup campaign!

Compton rides to second place in Rome, securing her first World Cup Points Overall. She is the most successful American Cross racer ever, and the first to win the WC Championship.
