SRAM RED: one gruppo, three victories

Unstoppable Tony Martin
Tony Martin (Omega Pharma-Quick-Step Pro Cycling) is without a doubt the time-trial master, as he confirmed yesterday by claiming the Individual-Time-Trial at the Tour de Romandie, his 5th victory of 2013. The 2012 ITT and TTT World Champion, aboard his Specialized Shiv with SRAM RED, covered the 18.7km in 21:07, 16 seconds faster than Adriano Malori (Lampre-Merida). Martin averaged an amazing 53kmh (33mph)!

Frodeno wins St. Antony’s Triathlon
The 2008 Olympic Champion, Jan Frodeno won the men’s Pro title at St. Antony’s Triathlon (1.5K swim, 40K bike, 10K run) in St Petersbourg (Florida, USA) in 1:47:05 with a well-rounded race. Out of the water, Jan was 8th. Then on his Specialized Shiv SRAM RED, the perfect machine for the non-drafting course, he continued his effort to finally run away from the competition.

After a lot of injuries in the past two years, the German triathlete made an amazing comeback to finish 6th at the 2012 London Games. With this early season victory ahead of international starts, he shows that his fitness and competitiveness are back. We are looking forward to see him on the podiums of the upcoming World Cups.

Specalized-Lululemon controls Gracia Orlova
Ellen van Dijk (NED) has raced well in international competition since the start of 2012. This past Sunday she won the Gracia Orlova’s General classification after claiming three stages out of six. She is hardly the only talent on the team. Evelyn Stevens (USA), who just came back to racing at Gracia Orlova after a heavy crash mid-march at Classica Citta di Padova, won the second stage and finished second overall. And, finally, the 25 year-old Australian Loren Rowney took the last stage of the race, giving the team five of six.
