In his first Ironman-distance Triathlon (Challenge Roth, July 2010), Sebastian Kienle, sent a strong message to the triathlon world by finishing under eight hours and breaking the Bike split World Record. Sebastian started racing at the age of 12 years old and he just keeps on getting better. This year he makes the leap to SRAM.
The current Ironman 70.3 World Champion and “triathlon über biker” has chosen SRAM RED and Zipp componentry to achieve his ultimate goal of becoming Ironman World Champion in Kona, Hawaii. Sebastian is known for his great bike-tech knowledge. He’s always trying to use the most efficient components to ride at his maximum, while saving as much energy as possible for the run.
With the SRAM RED drivetrain, he has found the perfect balance between fast, precise and instant shifting combined with ergonomics, comfort and efficiency.
“SRAM is proud to partner with Sebastian Kienle, he is an athlete we have been following for several years and is of course an amazing bike rider. His performances last year in winning the Ironman 70.3 World Championship, finishing 4th in the Ironman World Championship in Kona and 2nd in the Ironman European Championship in Frankfurt show that he is capable of winning the biggest races in the world. Sebastian’s technical interest & know-how on the bike make him the perfect athlete for SRAM to partner with as we continue to develop our technologies.” - Jason Phillips, SRAM European Road Sponsorship Manager.
