Jonathan and Alistair Brownlee, both for the first time on SRAM RED 22, finished 1st and 2nd at the ITU World Triathlon Series sprint race in Hamburg. The recently introduced SRAM RED 22 groupset offers the same technologies and levels of performance as the previous version, while giving the Brownlee brothers two more gearing options to optimize their power band on the bike. SRAM RED 22 along with their Zipp Firecrest 404’s, Service Course cockpit, and Quarq power meters delivered a level of performance on the day that few others could follow.
The two British prodigies crossed the finish line ahead of two other SRAM RED* triathletes, Javier Gomez (ESP) the current WTS leader and Richard Murray (RSA). On the women’s side, also on SRAM RED*, the WTS leader, Anne Haug (GER) took another win this season, while Andrea Hewitt (NZ) and Ashleigh Gentle (AUS) delivered gutsy performances to take 4th and 5th.
22 or 20 speeds, SRAM RED is definitely the world’s lightest and fastest gruppo.
