katie\'s side handlebar shot
Handlebars are Zipp SLC2’s with Thompson stem, Cane Creek integrated headset sealed cartridge bearings. I originally thought Katie had no reach adjust set but Katie’s husband and mechanic Mark told us she has it brought in a few turns. We noticed extra padding in the upper bartape, Mark said that he adds a second layer of bartape across the top. Katie also likes it as it helps in bumpier terrain. SRAM Professional Cable System by Gore is installed, semi-sealed cable system for the ultimate smooth running drivetrain. Our ProTour riders and mechanics LOVE this cable system for how durable it is and how it improves shifting performance in all conditions.

Katie’s cockpit – Red and blue Cane Creek headset, red SRAM hoods, black Zipp tape. Appears to be a red, white, black and blue theme throughout.

Katie\'s Zipp VumaQuad crankset
Zipp VumaQuad crankset with SRAM ceramic bearings. Katie’s mechanic and husband Mark uses superglue on the outer axle of the pedals and rubs sand in for added grip. Custom chainrings by WickWerks.

RED RD
SRAM RED rear derailleur.

RED FD
SRAM RED steel cage FD. Also notice the SRAM Professional Cable System grubseal leading into the cable clamp. Compton uses Zipp clincher wheels for trainnig and warming up on the trainer, she races Zipp 303 tubulars.

KFC
KFC = Not Kentucky fried Chicken, rather, Katie F*#%ing Compton. A reference back to when people would ask “who won the race?” The answer was typically Katie, and its no longer a surprise.
