SRAM\'s own Brian Pettit should be in the draft...
SRAM’s Brian Pettit updates us from the Pablove ride – its a 112 mile day and so why isn’t Brian in the draft?

Brian Pettit, SRAM brand manager, will be sending me updates from the road as he joins the Pablove ride for a few days Pablove website, which I post here. “BP” was nervous about the daily mileage but excited to join his longtime friend Jeff Castalez in a great effort for a great cause. We wish BP the best as he rolls big miles and truly shows his support for his friend and this great cause. If you haven’t please check out the Pablove website and consider a small contribution.

Update from 10/26/09 – “We are in Austin a day early thankfully because it is raining like crazy today. Hard to write after so many miles but here are some shots and information. I will put together an overall video once I get more footage to recap time spent with this ride.

The Pablove crew and SRAM’s Team 186 (PMS 186 is SRAM’s offical color) rolled out from Houston Saturday morning for the 80 mile route to Brenham, Texas. The Pablove crew was especially inspired after their trip to the Houston Children’s Hospital on Friday afternoon, where they met many courageous children dealing with cancer.

The ride went smooth and the weather warmed up to 80 degrees after a chilly 7 am start. Once in Brenham, Chad Contreras from SRAMs NRS program cleaned the bikes and made sure all was in order, while the Pablove support staff prepared recovery, dinner and the next days ride. Sunday morning came quickly with a 5:30 am breakfast and a very dark 7:00 am roll-out.

We were on our way to Austin with a 112 mile route ahead of us. Once on the road we rolled steady and strong through small Texas towns, beautiful state parks and the numbing terrain of the road shoulders. Finishing at the capitol building in Austin we had put in a hard days work with 18 mph average and 3700 feet of elevation gain. The next few days various rides will take place in Austin to spread the word of Pablove.org through the bicycle and bringing people together.”

Brian will continue send updates when time permits. He will join SRAM athletes Lance Armstrong and Desiree Ficker over the next few days, look for that update early Wednesday.
