Nice view of the S-Works at the Boulder Cup. Here you can notice that the water bottle mounts have been taped over to save weight and keep water out of the frame.

Meredith Miller may be a more familiar name from her stellar accomplishments on her road bike, she’s your current US National Road Champ (w/SRAM sponsored Team TIBCO), but she’s making a  name for herself on the ‘cross bike as well. After a fantastic rookie year last year, Meredith is coming into form nicely this year with her CalGiant cyclocross team. She calls Fort Collins Colorado home, but spends most of her time racing her bikes all over the country. She is becoming more and more of a force to be reckoned with in the mud.

SRAM’s very own Michael Zellmann was in Boulder to give us a closer look at her sweet 2010 Specialized S-Works Tricross loaded with SRAM Force and ZIPP 303’s.

All black for the handlebar set-up. She like her bars rolled up a little and her shifters sitting a little high as well.

Another nice view of her shifter placement. No reach adjust for Meredith. You can also see her TRP EuroX brakes.

This is quickly becoming the favorite set-up at the \'cross races. ZIPP 303cx carbon wheels. Wide and fast.

Thanks for checking out Meredith’s bike and stay tuned for more bike profiles as the season rolls along.

did meredith actually say that the cage bolts are removed for weight? I could understand water in the frame, thinking that the tapped over cage mounts are more to reduce the risk of snagging clothing then weight. if it were about weight, why not ride red?

Because removing the bolts is free? I agree, its probably for the anti-snagging factor.

I agree the weight seems a response to an observation rather than a comment from a racer or mechanic. I’d believe it for if the tape was there as unlike bolts it won’t catch or dig into the rider when shouldering.
